Commitment, dependability and dedication – a perfect mix for a volunteer. Louise Lamkin

You only have to walk down the corridors of Longmoor House integrated care unit in Aintree to see the effect Louise Lamkin has on those around her. Ward staff grin when they spot the bubbly 35 year old. They seem genuinely pleased to see her. Some ask, hopefully, if she’ll be on their ward.

Louise exudes joy. It could be because she’s doing what she loves. From an early age she would visit a local care home to chat and play games with residents.

Her passion for volunteering came when she was just ten years old.

We have a host of wonderful volunteers who are engaged in lots of different roles across the Trust and we want to celebrate them and their work. If you have a volunteer in your service and would like to have their dedication and hard work recognised, please get in touch with the Engagement Team and nominate them for Volunteer of the Month volunteering@merseycare.nhs.uk

To nominate a volunteer

  • We ask that the attached form is completed and sent into volunteering@merseycare.nhs.uk
  • Each month a volunteer nomination will be chosen and announced
  • The volunteer will receive £50 gift voucher, certificate and photo taken for Mersey Care website, Your People / Your Brief etc.
  • Each Volunteer of the Month will automatically be entered into Star Awards for Volunteer of the Year.
