Site safety hoardings are going up around the Mossley Hill site ahead of forthcoming demolition of the buildings scheduled to start later this summer.
Since the Mossley Hill site was fully vacated by all our services some preliminary groundworks and surveys in compliance with planning regulations have taken place. Work also continues at a pace behind the scenes with our Strategic Estates Team, senior management and support staff working closely with NHS Improvement and NHS England to satisfy the funding approvals process and oversight by statutory regulators.
The appointment of a demolition contractor coincides with the competitive tendering process currently under way to identify a major construction partner to build a new mental health hospital. Liverpool Sefton Health Partnership, an intermediary agency that works with many public bodies to help bring about improved health facilities, are assisting.
There is further engagement planned for Local Services Division’s inpatient staff, service users and carers, later this summer as more information and updates become available. Pictured: an artist’s impression of the new-look hospital proposed for our Mossley Hill site.
