There are currently two working groups with clinicians from across the trust working on debrief toolkits:
Incident Debrief Toolkit Workstream: Offering support following incidents of a racial abuse/discriminatory abuse and behaviours from service users to staff
Education Toolkit Workstream: Offering guidance for clinicians who have experienced racial abuse/discriminatory abuse in a therapy setting (whether directed at the clinician directly, or whether related to other persons / populations not present). The guidance will include how to respond in order to support both clients and colleagues as well as guidance for support offered in clinical and managerial supervision.
The service evaluation is part of the Incident Debrief workstream and has been approved by research and development. The insights gained from the service evaluation will help inform the content of the toolkit. Bethan Bell (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) is the lead clinician for the service evaluation with the support of Destiny Kumari (Assistant Psychologist) . This work aligns to our anti racism strategy (Educate, Support, Challenge) and our super 6 strategic intentions (highly engaged and supported staff).
