The temporary staffing policy (HR40) has been updated.
From 1 May 2025 the following key changes will be implemented:
- The requested timeframe for cancellations has been increased from four hours to 12 hours.
- Cancellations will be monitored and frequent cancellations or nonattendance may result in removal from the Trust bank.
These changes have been made due to high volumes of short notice cancellations and non-attendance for shifts, this impacts staff and patient safety and also makes requests for mobilisation to different areas more frequent. Ensuring safe staffing will support the Trust to deliver excellent patient care and provide a safe working environment for all colleagues within the organisation.
- Bank workers must ensure your contact details are up to date, you can do this by contacting the temporary staffing office nursebank
@merseycare.nhs.uk . - A new bank workers agreement will be sent via email, ensure that you read and understand the changes
- Circulate this information to any colleagues that may be affected
- Roster managers must ensure that shifts are removed from the roster timely and with the correct cancellation reason specified.
