Whalley site’s century long tradition of carols at St Luke’s continued this week. Taking place in a well-ventilated marquee outside the church, and with all precautions taken, chaplain Rev Karen Jobson led the traditional festival of lessons and carols.
The Mayor and Mayoress of the Ribble Valley and Executive Director Elaine Darbyshire joined in the singing – and the actions! Service users had a great time and were widely applauded for their readings and contributions.
We had fun keeping to time with live music relayed from inside St Luke’s by the Salvation Army Band. There were a few changes of personnel doing the readings too, but with thanks to OT, SLT, facilities and catering, the Christmas story was told once again.
Julia and the whole team would like to applaud service users and staff for a successful, if different, carol service, this year.
