Part B NEWS2 is a competency assessment and is now available to book for band 3’s and above. It is a competency assessment of manual, Clinical observation.
Attendees will be required to take a full set of observations manually, followed by a set of questions to answer. The assessment will last approximately 1 hour and is delivered on a 1 to 1 basis.
This can be booked through the Clinical Skills Team. The session is not a training session, it is an assessment; therefore, staff should be given the opportunity to prepare for their Competency Assessment, either through supervision or Clinicalskills.net.
There is cascade training available for Band 6’s and Band 7’s, to enable them to assess band 5’s and below on their ward areas.
The sessions will take place in the Clinical Skills / Vaccine Centre in training room 1, currently there are 6 sessions per day (Mon – Fri) being provided.
