Sexual Health Week: Supporting young people
Sexual Health Week is an opportunity to raise awareness, share resources, and promote open conversations around sexual wellbeing - especially among our young people.
Our School Health Portal provides a trusted space for young people to explore topics like consent, contraception, LGBTQ+ support, online safety, and STI prevention. The portal is designed to be inclusive, accessible, and non-judgmental - empowering young people to make informed choices and seek help when they need it.
Sexual health is about more than physical wellbeing - it’s about emotional safety, respect, and understanding. By supporting young people with clear, age appropriate information, we help build confidence and reduce stigma.
We encourage all staff working with children, young people, and families to explore the Sexual Health section of the School Health Portal and share it with schools, parents, and community partners.
Sefton and Liverpool school health teams have been trained in offering advice around sexual health. Young people, parents, and education staff can contact us for more advice or one to one confidential appointments.
Let’s work together to ensure every young person feels supported, respected, and informed.
