Following a recent governance review, it has been confirmed that our Lymphoedema Service is not commissioned to provide care for housebound patients. As a result, the service will no longer routinely accept or manage referrals for patients who are unable to attend clinic appointments.
Exception – Palliative patients
We recognise the importance of ensuring appropriate support for patients with palliative care needs. Referrals for housebound patients receiving palliative care will continue to be considered; however, these will be reviewed on an individual, case-by-case basis to determine the most suitable support.
