Three new learning modules are available for all those who support patients who have experienced trauma, suitable for you if you support patients or work with families who may have had a traumatic birth experience.
The training is an introduction to the symptoms of birth trauma, postnatal PTSD and outlines the screening tools that are available and has been added to the Perinatal Mental Health (PMH) programme on ESR and the elearning for healthcare (elfh) hub.
It’s not mandatory, but it would be useful for Perinatal mental health teams, health visiting teams (0-19 teams), and those working with families 0-5. You can find it on ESR using this link. When you click the link, you will see the screen below where you can enrol on the course.
From this screen, click the subscribe button then the finish button on the following page.
After that you will be shown a page that lists all three modules:
- 350 Introduction and definition of birth trauma
- 350 Symptoms of birth trauma and postnatal PTSD
- 350 Different assessment tools available to screen for birth trauma
If you scroll to the bottom of the list, there will be an enrol button. Clicking that will enrol you onto all three packages for you to complete.
Once all three are completed, the Certification will award the ‘350|LOCAL|Perinatal Mental Health Birth Trauma|’ competence (blue competence and there is no expiry).
