Long Service Recognition Award

Colleagues who have completed 25 and 40 years of service in the NHS will be eligible to receive a Long Service Award for their great achievement and dedication to the NHS. Staff employed on fixed term contracts or part time employment will be eligible on the same terms as staff employed on full time contracts.

Following a recent review of the Long Service Awards and our financial challenges, long service recognition will now be provided in a different way, rather than through attendance at the Star Awards.

It remains very important to us that long service continues to be recognised. All eligible colleagues will still receive:

  • A gift voucher (25 years/£150 or 40 years/ £200)
  • A personalised letter of thanks.

We are incredibly grateful for the commitment and contribution of colleagues across the Trust, and we remain committed to recognising this in a meaningful way.

If you would like to recognise a colleague who has worked in the NHS for a long time, please email the details to communications@merseycare.nhs.uk along with a photo (if you have consent from the individual to do so) and we can include in our Your People newsletter.
