We are now about a month away from ‘practical completion’ of our exciting new mental health care site in Mossley Hill.
We're at a vital stage of the build which involves finishing the programme and clearing up the site as we begin to look forward to occupying the building for staff and patients.
Our construction partners are targeting 7 July as handover and working towards that date, after which the site becomes a Mersey Care facility. We're monitoring these last stages closely.
Mossley Hill will open to patients as planned this autumn after a period of commissioning and training. There will also be a time to celebrate the move and thank staff at our existing sites – and an opening ceremony as well before we start working from there.
One of our champions, Rev Sara Doyle, recently toured the facility and you can see her excitement in this short film here. In the week or so since Sara was there, the site has come on further and we look forward to welcoming more colleagues on site to see it – the newest hospital in the NHS.
You can read more on the dedicated page for staff here. Here there are questions and answers about staffing issues, travel and of course all the information about the new wards and their names.
Champions
We're developing the champions' network made up of colleagues working in the Windsor House and Broadoak services.
Mossley Hill champions will be trained to help inform the delivery of the finished build by making sure it is set up appropriately. They will help and induct other colleagues as we get move ready and during the transition to working at Mossley Hill.
More details to follow with training planned for next month - if you're interested in being a point of contact, speak to your line manager.
