Supported by their occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistants, the ladies have helped to design a ‘vertical garden’ from an old wooden pallet, planted pots of bright flowers and plants to attract insects and also created decorations and birdfeeders for the trees.  For those less green-fingered, the outdoor area is now well used for Yoga too.

Lead OT Helen Baxendale says:

“This is the most beautiful and engaging meaningful activity possible! We’ve co-produced a relaxing garden area for everyone to enjoy. Already we’re reaping what we sewed, with tasty tomatoes and strawberries ripening in the raised beds to share around.”

OT assistants Adam Jones and Melissa Glover are now working with the eager ladies to co-produce a sensory garden. Things are moving forward with the plan to use AI to bring all their wonderful ideas together.
