Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Trust came together last week for a joint high fidelity MDT emergency training day. The in-situ simulation training was planned to support colleagues from the Trusts to come together prior to the newly refurbished Neuromodulation suite at Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre. The Neuromodulation suite has undergone extensive refurbishment and will provide ECT and TMS treatments to service users.     

Mark Rowson, Head of Clinical Simulation Training at Mersey & West Lancashire NHS Trust commented on ‘the enthusiasm and positive attitude of all staff involved’, which included anaesthetic consultants and trainees from the Trusts, Operating Department Practitioners, Recovery Nurses, Mersey Care’s Neuromodulation Team, Resuscitation Lead, Fire Safety Officer and colleagues from health and safety team   

Jennie Bossward, Neuromodulation Clinical Team Leader highlighted the importance of the teams coming together prior to the opening to start the team building process while also identifying and rectifying any potential issues in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. All the staff involved in the simulation training day, reported how beneficial they found the session and would like to thank all involved in making the day a success.
