Nell Shore, Specialist Nurse Paediatric Liaison is retiring.
Nell qualified as a nurse in August 1987 before training as a midwife. She spent 17 years as a midwife, working between Mill Road and Oxford Street before moving to LWH when it opened in 1994. Nell enjoyed working on delivery suite and working as a research midwife, and achieved her Advanced Diploma in midwifery in1996.
Nell qualified as a Health Visitor in 2004 and worked for Liverpool Community Health based in south Liverpool. Following a serious road traffic accident in 2012 and a difficult recovery, Nell returned to Health Visiting and was seconded to the HV Liaison Team based at LWH where she has been since.
In 2021, Nell reduced her hours in preparation for early retirement. During this time she achieved a lifelong ambition to learn to ride a motorcycle, passing her test in 2022. When Nell finishes work she is taking her bike to Scotland, before starting a year long adventure of travelling around Asia and biking in New Zealand!
If anyone would like to wish Nell well, there will be a drop in on Friday 26 May from 11am to 1pm in the Health Visitor Liaison Team office (room 9a Antenatal Clinic, ground floor LWH)
