Safeguarding Adults Week 2025 is all about Prevention.

Usually, when people talk about “safeguarding”, they are talking about the policies and procedures we might put into place to respond to concerns of abuse, or to minimise the risk of a person being harmed or abused again. They are also talking about the lessons we might learn from past cases of abuse.

During Safeguarding Adults Week, we will be sharing daily briefings designed to help colleagues reflect on their vital role in creating safer, more empowering environments across Mersey Care. Each day focuses on a different aspect of prevention and safer cultures—ranging from proactive intervention and values-based leadership, to trauma-informed practice, speaking up with confidence, and celebrating examples of what “good” really looks like in safeguarding.

The Ann Craft Trust is a leading UK charity dedicated to safeguarding adults at risk, offering training, research and practical tools that help organisations build safer cultures and prevent abuse. We are proud to support National Safeguarding Adults Week and throughout the week we will share focused briefings and resources that align with their national themes and reinforce our commitment to prevention and safer practice.

Colleagues are encouraged to explore the Ann Craft Trust website, where you’ll find a wide range of accessible guidance, checklists, research and learning materials to support your ongoing safeguarding awareness and confidence.
