Agnes Chandia Baku, Chief Nursing Officer from Ministry of Health, Uganda, was welcomed to the Trust on 15 July by Jenny Hurst, Deputy Chief Nurse and Director of Infection Prevention and Control and Sandra O’Hear, Deputy Nurse Strategic Lead for Safeguarding and CQC. The visit was initiated by Justine Kigozi Nakimuli Odwongo, Freedom to Speak Up Guardian and Cultural Sensitivity Lead.
The aim of the visit is to support Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries. Uganda is a low income country, currently redesigning their nursing programme to include critical mental health care. Agnes was pleased with her visit to mental health services and our hospitality and is looking forward to sharing her learning with the Ministry of Health, Uganda.
