Mersey Care Community Nursing Services EMIS Web Migration

Knowsley District Nursing and Community Matrons

Following discussions with system partners and Mersey Care’s continued commitment to improve its digital infrastructure we are delighted to share with you that Mersey Care is now in a position to standardise clinical systems across community physical services. Beginning in February 2024, a number of patient service across St Helens and Knowsley will transfer from utilising RIO as their Electronic Patient Record to EMIS Web.

Knowsley District Nursing and Community Matron services will be the first to migrate across, commencing Monday, 19 February 2024.

Services will migrate onto the existing Mersey Care ‘Integrated Community Nursing’ EMIS Web org CBD 23955. The change will enable a more joined up, and holistic approach across physical health for clinicians.

Data sharing will be in place under the current GP and Community Services Data Sharing Agreement v2.2 which will be updated later this year to include all planned changes for the system harmonisation onto EMIS Web.

Using ‘All records’ in EMIS Web will continue to provide access to the full community shared record which will become more enriched as services migrate.

From the point of go live, eCorrespondence from these services will now be sent directly to GP practices via EMIS Workflow instead of Docman.

This is a planned migration of EMIS across both nursing and therapy services within Knowsley, the remaining teams are in the process of planning their go live date and you will be updated with further information when this happens.

If you would like to discuss this project, please email laura.bow@imerseyside.nhs.uk

Knowsley District Nursing Services and Community Matrons have migrated to EMIS so you will no longer be able to complete an internal referral via RIO.

Should you need to refer any patients to these services please complete the attached referral form and send to: mcn-tr.knowsleycommunitynursing@nhs.net
