A peer reviewed evaluation of our Maternal Mental Health Service trauma focused group intervention has been published in the Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology on 26 February 2026. The study reports significant clinical improvements for women experiencing psychological birth trauma and childbirth related PTSD who attended our group.
How the intervention works:
- Delivered online over six weeks
- Includes psychoeducation, grounding and stabilisation skills, compassion focused approaches and peer support
- Facilitated by a clinical psychologist/psychological therapist with assistant psychologist support.
The intervention was developed in collaboration with women with lived experience of psychological birth trauma, informing session structure, pacing and language.
