In recent weeks, there have been major changes to wards in our medium secure service at Maghull Health Park.

Ladies with a diagnosis of learning disability have now moved from Rowan View to the low secure service on Hodder Ward at Aspen Wood. This week the team have safely and successfully transferred the 16 MS patients from Thornton Ward to Birkdale Ward. Thornton will now be closed for a week for refurbishment.

The moves have gone really well with one patient so positive about the move that they described having 'hotel vibes'.

Clinical services manager Mark O'Farrell has thanked his staff for their great work in facilitating the changes. He gave shout outs to colleagues as well in pharmacy, IT, security and estates.  Mark offered a special thank you to two staff from MH Quinn who stayed to nearly midnight on Tuesday to make the move happen.

Eve Mousley shared how Secure Care Division's SLT had acknowledged everyone's smooth implementation of the move, including the work at Aspen Wood managing the women's move there. Lisa Rens, Associate Director of Strategic Operations, told us: "Everyone has really pulled together for our patients and for each other. It's been a challenge but staff have really demonstrated what great team they are."

Well done team!
