Rowan View has received highly positive feedback following its latest annual review by the Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services (QNFMHS), with reviewers highlighting the significant progress made over the past 12 months.

During the full-day visit, reviewers met with staff and patients from every ward, alongside colleagues from a range of clinical and professional disciplines.  Patients also took part in a group session in The Curve Café, helping to make sure patient voices were central to the review process.

One member of the review team, who had also been part of a previous visit, praised the significant changes made, describing it as “a privilege to audit and see the changes and progress across the service.”

Patients said they were happy with the staff and the care they receive, while carers also spoke highly of the support provided.  Reviewers also highlighted the positive atmosphere across the building, significant improvements in staffing levels and sickness absence, successful recruitment, and the excellent work taking place with ‘The A Team’ project on Astley Ward.

While a small number of areas for further improvement were identified - including additional evening and weekend activities, some ward resources and family visiting facilities - the feedback reflects how the service continues to develop and move forward with confidence.

Sarah Pilling, Head of Operations at Rowan View, said:

“I want to sincerely thank every member of staff at Rowan View for their significant contribution to the changes that have been recognised as part of this year’s review.  Over the last 12 months, colleagues have worked with real dedication, compassion and professionalism to improve care and enhance the experiences of patients and carers.”

Thank you to all colleagues involved in the visit for your continued commitment and teamwork to make Rowan View a positive environment for patients, carers and staff.
