Honouring our communities
A huge congratulations to Justine Nakimuli, Solomon Gwatidzo and Salome Mare-Walsh, who have been selected as honourees in the national Honouring Black Britain campaign, recognising the positive difference they make through their leadership, service and commitment to communities.
Solomon is being celebrated for the impact he makes alongside his clinical role, including his leadership as Chair of the Multi Ethnic Colleagues Network and his contribution to allyship initiatives that are helping to create a more supportive and inclusive environment.
Justine is being honoured for her work as Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, her leadership of the Ugandan Nurses and Midwives Association UK, and her charity, Mind, Body and Soul. Salome is being recognised for her work as a psychotherapist, her support for organisations through equality, diversity and inclusion workshops, and the valuable pro bono support she provides within communities.
Honouring Black Britain is a national recognition initiative marking Black History Month and celebrating Black individuals whose lives, leadership and service have helped shape Britain. This campaign reminds us that Black history is lived every day — in our communities, workplaces, families and organisations. Watch this space.
