    Cyber security update: Please be extra vigilant

    As you may be aware, a major cyber security incident was declared at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust earlier in the week which remains ongoing. Additionally, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital have reported similar ongoing cyber incidents. These matters are currently under criminal investigation, and we will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

    IT SERVICE UPDATE - Trust RIO BI Issues

    Following the planned Rio downtime for disaster recovery testing on Sunday, it has become apparent that the back-up files we receive every 15 minutes into the Trust data warehouse, to provide a version of Rio data that we can report from, have not been supplied since Sunday afternoon.

    New process for safeguarding pressure ulcers

    Following the launch of the new prevention and management of pressure ulcers Trust policy, there is an updated section on safeguarding considerations and to offer a clear process for staff. A new procedure has been introduced which will involve the completion of a new safeguarding template on EMIS known as the Adult Safeguarding Decision Guide.

    Members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic performed live for Ashworth Life Rooms service users this week. Continuing a long partnership with the Trust, the musicians played pieces by famous composers – and stunning new works by patients – accompanied by poetry and words written by Life Rooms users.
