Celebrating National Kindness Day – Together we make a difference Today, on National Kindness Day (13 November) we’re celebrating the incredible kindness shown by our staff and supporters. Thanks to your generosity and dedication to raising funds for our charity, Mersey Cares has been able to fund projects that go beyond NHS budgets—bringing comfort, hope, and wellbeing to patients, service users, and staff across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Our colleagues at the British Medical Association (BMA) have formally confirmed that there will be further industrial action by resident doctors for five days from 7am on 14 November to 7am on 19 November 2025.

As we move deeper into the winter season, I want to speak directly to all staff - particularly those in clinical and patient-facing roles - about the steep rise in flu cases and the critical role each of us plays in protecting our patients, our colleagues, and ourselves.

Can you warm a child’s heart by giving a gift this Christmas? Mersey Cares, our dedicated NHS charity has launched its 2025 Secret Santa Appeal to give a gift to children and young people accessing our services this Christmas time.

There is a continuing intermittent issue with our Phadia analysers, which is affecting the dsDNA assay. We are also working to catch up on allergy testing.
