On 1 March 2022, Government’s formal response to the consultation was published. Government intends to revoke the regulations making vaccines a condition of deployment for health and social care staff after seeking views on this through consultation and this will come into effect on 15 March 2022. Therefore, there will no longer be a legal requirement for health and social care staff to be vaccinated against COVID.
We know the implementation of the VCOD national directive was upsetting and unsettling for many of our staff and we will reflect on the impact as we want to make sure we learn lessons for the future.
