Safe use of insulin training
From the 1 June 2024, 350 Safe Use of Insulin eLearning, will be an annual training requirement as agreed by the Workforce Development Education and Training Group (WDETG) and Operational Management Group.

The staff identified to complete this eLearning in Community Care Division are:
- Community nurses in District Nursing teams (Band 7, Band 6, Band 5, Band 4 Nurse qualified nurse associates)
- Registered Nurses (Band 6 & 5, qualified Nurse associates) Longmoor House
- Registered Nurses in ICRAS and 2 hour urgent care response.

Changes to fit testing FFP3 masks
We are currently in period of transition in terms of the process for reviewing those staff who require fit testing.
This is because this is part of emergency pandemic future preparedness and updated guidance set out in national Infection prevention and control manual for England (NIPCM link) which sets out requirement for use of respiratory protection such as FFP3 masks to protect staff against airborne transmitted pathogens such as measles.
Your ESR learning account may now show this as a mandated requirement. Staff in scope will need to book fit testing through clinical skills team.
You will only need to do this once unless:
- Significant weight loss or gain
- Substantial dental work
- Any facial changes (scars, moles, effects of aging etc) around the face seal area
- New facial piercings
- If this mask is no longer available or change of mask.
If staff have forgotten which mask they have been fit tested on they can contact clinicalskillsteam
