On behalf of the family of the late Mary Schmidt who sadly passed away at Roby Lodge Care Home, Huyton on 23 November 2025, I would like to say thank you to all the Mersey Care services involved in her care.
Our mum was living with dementia and in May this year was also diagnosed with lung cancer. She was provided with outstanding care by the services involved, who showed her compassion and professionalism throughout. She had many services involved including District Nurses, Community Palliative Care Team, Urgent Care, LLMS, Occupational Therapy and Wheelchair services. Apologies if I have missed anybody.
I would also like to say a special thank you to Colette from the District Nurse team (and her colleague who’s name I can’t remember) who supported our family on the day of our mum’s passing. They were extremely caring, empathetic and professional - along with an added touch of humour, which was very much appreciated. We will be forever grateful to you all for supporting our family on this very sad day.
As an employee of Mersey Care myself, I am proud to be part of a very caring organisation.
