Our new Sexual Misconduct at Work policy sets out our zero tolerance approach to all forms of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

The 2025 national staff survey results showed that 8.53% of our staff reported that they had been the target of unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature in the workplace from patients, service users, their relatives or other members of the public at least once.

2.08% of staff said they had experienced this from another member of staff.

This is why it is so important that all staff are familiar with our new Sexual Misconduct at Work policy, drafted in line with the NHS Sexual Safety Charter which the Trust signed up to in 2023, and implementing the principles of the sexual safety charter assurance framework.

Our aim is to take appropriate steps to prevent staff from being subject to these unwanted behaviours and when they do occur, support staff to report this in a way that is comfortable for them, including supporting anonymous reporting where needed.

The policy went live on 05 March 2026 and you can read it here.
