The clinical skills team have added NEWS2 and 'escalation of a deteriorating patient' training to the prospectus in section two.
There are different ways you can access this training.

A three hour session with a practical opportunity for manual clinical observations for staff who may be new in their role or have never done observations.

An hour and a half refresher for those who may already have some knowledge and skills.

An e-reader on ESR for those who cannot attend.
To achieve the competency, staff can complete any version.
Following this, you can complete a competency assessment for NEWS2 and Clinical Observations (PART B). This is a 1-1 session that takes an hour.
