Microsoft has launched a new version of Microsoft Teams.
If you haven’t already, please switch now to the new version of Microsoft Teams using the toggle field in the upper left corner of your Teams app.
If you do not switch now to the new version of Microsoft Teams, this change will happen automatically in the coming weeks.
As soon as you have switched to the new version of Microsoft Teams, your Teams app should automatically restart. If you cannot see the ‘Try the new Teams’ option, please restart Microsoft Teams.
All your information including Teams, Channels, Calendar entries and Chat history will still be available when you switch. You will also benefit from useful new features which have been outlined below.

Mersey Care branded Microsoft Teams backgrounds are available for you to use. If you need to upload these backgrounds within the new version of Microsoft Teams, please follow the guidance available on YourSpace.
What are the benefits?
New Microsoft Teams offers numerous benefits including:
- Improved performance: You should be able to start and join meetings twice as quickly. At the same time, less computer memory is used, which should have a positive effect on audio and video performance leading to an improved user experience.

- New features: New Microsoft Teams offers better integration with other Microsoft 365 apps to enhance communication and collaboration.

Mersey Care branded Microsoft Teams backgrounds are available for you to use. These backgrounds can be found below and should also be visible from within Microsoft Teams once fully deployed to all colleagues.
When on a Microsoft Teams call where the camera is turned on, colleagues are encouraged to use one of these approved corporate backgrounds. This is particularly recommended when conducing external meetings to help ensure you are representing our organisation in a consistent and professional way.
If you choose not to use one of these backgrounds, please be mindful of what is visible behind you, making sure that no sensitive information is on show. Please refrain from using your own photographs or images.
The backgrounds that include multiple logos work best when there are several people on the call.
Please remember that when you are previewing the background image, it will look mirrored on your screen. However please be assured that this will look normal for everyone else and you do not need to adjust the image.
