One of the six key research areas the new Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) is focusing on is new uses for existing medicines that might provide new ways to treat psychosis. This involves putting clinical trials and biomedical science at the centre of our Early Intervention for Psychosis (EIP) Service.

As part of this work, we are supporting a new trial led by the University of Birmingham that is looking at the use of antidepressants for the prevention of depression following first episode psychosis. Find out more about the ADEPP trial on the ADEPP website or by contacting research.department@merseycare.nhs.uk.
