To celebrate Learning Disability Week, Walton Lea Partnership visited Hollins Park on Tuesday to talk about about what they do and showcase some of the amazing crafts their learners have made.
This year's theme for LD Week is 'Do you see me?' which aims to emphasise the importance of recognising, hearing and valuing people with learning disabilities in all aspects of life.
The team were showing their ‘hospital passports’, which were designed to make appointments easier for people with additional learning needs. The idea behind the passports is to provide details such as preferred name, method of communication and important details like allergies, so that these details don't have to be repeated each time you attend an appointment.
