November is Islamophobia Awareness Month, we know our workforce, services and our communities are massively impacted by Islamophobia. It’s important we talk about this and take steps to address discrimination.

This year, Islamophobia aims to emphasise the importance of challenging narratives that misrepresent Muslims. The goal is to reframe conversations that are based on stereotypes or assumptions and to platform stories that showcase the day to day reality.

80 per cent of Muslim NHS staff report experiencing Islamophobia in their workplace, Muslim communities suffer disproportionately from health disparities and despite a growing and dedicated workforce, Muslim physicians remain underrepresented in leadership positions.
BIMA (British Islamic Medical Association)

toolkit has been produced to support teams to talk about Islamophobia. Please have a cup of tea and talk about this or use some of the ideas in the toolkit as part of your team meetings.

If you are affected by this personally, we offer support through Nafsiyat and they can be contacted here.
