International Infection Prevention and Control Week starts on the 19 October and is dedicated to raising awareness about the critical importance of infection prevention.

This year, we invite everyone to Stand UPPP for Infection Prevention. This is a rallying call that highlights the power of collective action. UPPP stands for Unite, Protect, Prevent, Prevail. These four pillars reflect what it takes to stop the spread of infection and create safer spaces.

When we unite across roles and settings, we protect our communities, service users, patients and staff to prevent infections through everyday actions, and prevail over emerging threats to build a stronger, healthier future.

During the awareness week, the IPC team will be at the following sites promoting International IPC week/ UPPP. Please come and say hello (we have some gifts donated by Clinell)

  • Wednesday, 22 October 11am to 1pm Hollins Park site
  • Thursday, 23 October 10am to 12pm at Longmoor House Reception
  • Friday, 24 October all day at Maghull Health Park

This is an opportunity for our IPC champions to be proactive and share messages about the theme. More info and resources and ideas for promotion within your clinical areas are available on the Infectionpreventionandyou website. Further information regarding IPC policy, SOPs, IPC care plans, information and resources please see the IPC page.
