The Life Rooms and Holistic Harmonies CIC are collaborating to offer an Intergenerational Music Movement Programme funded by Sport England. This starts on 6 June from 11am to 12.30pm for six weeks at The Life Rooms Bootle, St Winefride's Campus,Merton Road, Bootle, L20 7AP.

These sessions will consist of:

  • Dancing together with our creative routines choreographed with a Specialist Physiotherapist
  • Singing songs from the past and the present led by our wonderful musicians
  • Using maracas, scarves, and an elastic band
  • Having social time after the session where we can chat and get to know each other better
  • A space for people of all ages to have fun...

The Life Rooms would like your help in recruiting our participants.

We’re looking for 10 older people (55+), and 10 parents with children under 5 years old to create an intergenerational group.

They have teamed up with South Central Community Transport to provide transport to and from each session.  So please consider those of your patients/service users who may not usually be able to attend community activities.

You can either email Rachel Waite: rachel@holistic-harmonies.com or call 07747 446 048 with the people you’re considering referring. You can also book on behalf of/with your patient through their website.

They will liaise directly with participants to arrange transport.

The Life Rooms have produced an evaluation report published through Shortwork about our initial Intergenerational Music and Movement Pilot we did in 2019.

The Life Rooms will not take responsibility for the care of children, so any child that attends the group must be accompanied by an adult over 18 who should supervise the child at all times. As the facilitator is not a Mersey Care employee and the group isn’t a group/service provided by Mersey Care, we do not have any information about attendees, therefore, parents must make an informed decision as to whether this is an appropriate group to attend.
