An exciting opportunity has come up to join the expanding Individual Placement Support (IPS) employment service at The Life Rooms, with multiple roles available across Sefton, Knowsley, and Warrington. IPS support people with serious or complex mental health conditions to find meaningful full-time or part-time employment.

Getting back into employment can support with a service users’ recovery. IPS Employment Specialists work closely with service users, community mental health teams (CMHTs), and local employers and businesses:

  • They are fully embedded within CMHTs to raise awareness of IPS, receive referrals, and stay linked in with clinical teams about the support they’re providing to their service users,
  • They meet service users in community venues they feel comfortable and familiar with, to start building up a profile of skills and interests, ready for job searching,
  • They identify local businesses who match the skills and interest criteria of their service users, and who they can help to fill vacancies, and support both employer and employee throughout the process.

You can find out more about IPS in these short videos, shared recently to celebrate Employability Day.
