Staff from across the Trust are showing their support for Hypo Awareness Week to raise awareness of Hypoglycaemia (hypo), which is a short-term complication of diabetes.

Hypoglycaemia takes place when the blood glucose levels of people with diabetes drop too low. They can feel shaky, unwell and, in extreme cases, can slip into a coma.

This year, the campaign was inspired by the Olympics, encouraging healthcare professionals to become champions by learning to spot the symptoms, identify the signs, and administer the appropriate treatments for hypoglycaemia.

E-leaning training for health and social care staff is FREE during #HAW2024, to help boost competence, confidence and guideline familiarity. Topics can be completed in less than 30 minutes. For more information view this poster.
