Head of Nursing – Walk‑in Centres
Three month secondment opportunity (April-July 2026)
We’re pleased to share an exciting three month secondment opportunity within the CAS Specialist Nursing and AHP Service Line, part of our Community Care Division.
This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to provide visible leadership, specialist clinical expertise and operational stability during a key period of change, while helping shape the future direction of Walk‑in Centre services at Mersey Care.
The post holder will:
- Provide senior clinical leadership and highly specialist nursing expertise across Walk‑in Centre services
- Help drive the cultural change needed to embed the Trust’s vision and values and support the successful transition of services
- Support high level operational and strategic planning, ensuring performance objectives are met and services remain safe, effective and patient‑centred
- Work collaboratively with divisional senior leaders to deliver corporate, cross cutting programmes and service improvements
- Lead the local delivery of service redesign, integration and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide operational stability during a period of significant change, including post acquisition activity
- Deputise for the Assistant Director of Nursing when required, including representing the Trust at internal and external strategic meetings
- Manage complex, sensitive and sometimes contentious issues, including high level investigations and stakeholder engagement
- Participate in the Trust’s bronze/silver on call rota, as required
- Hold budgetary responsibility for financial and physical resources and act as an authorised signatory.
- Duration: 3 months (April toJuly 2026)
- Hours: 37.5 WTE
- Base: Walk‑in Centres / Community Care Division
- Reporting to: Assistant Director of Nursing
