Burst water main affecting Trust sites

A burst water main on Church Road is causing disruption to surrounding areas L21/L30/L9/L23/L10/L22 including Trust sites where there is no water available (kitchen areas and toilets). Colleagues affected today (Sunday) have been informed and necessary measures taken. Please continue into work as usual on Monday, where managers will advise of plans for those sites that may be affected.

United Utilities has said this afternoon: “We’re well under way with replacing the 5.5m section of the 24 inch pipe. When it is repaired we will then need to re-fill the pipe with water before it can come back into supply. We expect the work to be ongoing throughout the afternoon but we will provide further updates when they are available. We have water tankers in the area and they will remain there to help to maintain supplies where they can.

Free bottled water is available at the below locations. These sites are busy but we will be keeping the stock topped up but please only take what you need to ensure there is enough to go around:

  • Netherton Activity Centre L30 3TL
  • Sainsburys, Liverpool Road, Crosby L23 2SA

Please note, we will proactively contact and automatically pay any customer entitled to compensation so customers don’t need to get in touch with us directly about this”.

Updates are also being made available via their website: https://www.unitedutilities.com/emergencies/up-my-street/l21-liverpool/
