Kathy Cowell has been appointed as the new NHS England North West Regional Chair, this role is designed to strengthen support for NHS organisations across the North West.
Kathy will provide visible, independent leadership and work with the Regional Executive Team, provider Chairs and ICB Chairs to help deliver the 10‑year health plan, improve quality and productivity, and reduce inequalities. Kathy brings extensive NHS board experience from roles across provider, commissioner and system organisations, alongside a long record of public service in Cheshire.
She takes up the post on 1 May for an initial three‑year term.
