Aintree
Racecourse will host the 2025 Grand National Festival from 3 to 5 April, with potential disruption to local roads and rail lines. Please plan ahead!
A number of diversions and traffic management measures will be in place including temporary closures. Heavy traffic is expected on the A59. Ormskirk Road, as well as Park Lane between Bridle Road and Ormskirk Road, will be closed between 3.00pm and 9.00pm on all three festival days. Melling Road will be closed at the junction of Seeds Lane to Aintree Lane.
To facilitate the transport management plan, key road closures are as follows:
Melling Road: closed from the junction of Seeds Lane to the junction of Aintree Lane from 7am on Wednesday until 10pm on Saturday. The diversion route is via Melling Road, Warbreck Moor, Ormskirk Road, and Aintree Lane
Seeds Lane, Melling Road, and Greenwich Road: closed daily from 7am to 9pm, Thursday to Saturday. These roads will be accessible to residents only.
Heysham Road (at the bridge): One-way each day from 3pm to 9pm, Thursday to Saturday.
