HSJ Digital Awards Shortlist success for our Medicines Management Team and for Mersey Care’s work on Supportive Electronic Observations (eObs)
Medicines Management
Our Medicines Management Team has been shortlisted for two categories at this year’s HSJ Digital Awards:
- Improving Medicines and Pharmacy Through Digital Award
- Driving Change Through Data and Analytics Award
Their projects showcase a clinically led, data‑driven transformation of our medicines optimisation approach. By harmonising prescribing systems, automating key workflows, and embedding real‑time analytics, the team has significantly improved medicines safety, reduced costs, and enhanced access to actionable insights across our organisation.
These innovations are already delivering measurable benefits supporting safer prescribing, improving operational efficiency, and empowering staff with timely data. This work is an excellent example of how digital transformation can drive better patient outcomes and support system‑wide improvement.
Supportive Electronic Observations (eObs)
Mersey Care’s work on Supportive Electronic Observations (eObs) has been shortlisted in two categories at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026:
- Digital Clinical Safety
- Improving Mental Health Through Digital.
The nominations recognise the Trust’s collaborative, in-house development of a co-designed mobile eObs solution. Fully integrated with the electronic patient record (EPR), clinicians and operational colleagues worked together with digital colleagues from NHS Informatics Merseyside (IM) to co-design a bespoke product that reflects the unique needs of mental health and secure care.
The solution provides real-time data to strengthen oversight of acuity, compliance and resource planning. This approach is improving safety, consistency and quality of care, while supporting Mersey Care’s long-term digital transformation ambitions and empowering staff in their day-to-day work.
