A new regional contract with Vodafone has been established across Cheshire and Merseyside to provide the best value for SIM connections used by NHS staff.
All SIM cards must be novated to the new contract, this means that there will be a brief outage of up to five minutes on each SIM on Thursday, 20 February 2025 from 9am to 5pm. If the SIM card is in use at the time then this may result in a dropped call or, if being used to provide remote access via a laptop, then a loss of connection. In such circumstances, users are reminded of the best practice to save your work regularly.
The process cannot unfortunately be completed by Vodafone in one go and is being completed at around 1000 SIMs at a time.
Once moved on to the new contract, the SIM will work as before. There are no changes to tariffs or existing data limits on the devices or changes to mobile numbers.
In the event that service is not resumed on your device, please restart your device in the first instance. If service still is not resumed after a restart, please contact the Service Desk, ideally via Self Service.
This is a follow-on from the first batch of SIMs which were transferred successfully last week. Scheduled dates of further batches will be communicated in due course.
Thank you for your co-operation.
