We are delighted and proud to confirm that Mersey Care is one of first Trusts nationally to be accredited with the full National Preceptorship Quality Mark which is awarded to organisations who offer high quality Preceptorship programmes for newly qualified registered nurses, nursing associates and allied health professionals.
In 2023, Mersey Care was included in the early implementer’s pilot and awarded with the Interim Quality Mark for Nursing, however we have now achieved the full quality mark as part of an early implementer pilot and recognition of our support to other professional groups.
Preceptorship aims to provide support, guidance, and development for all newly registered practitioners to build confidence and develop full competence as they transition into an autonomous professional. Our Preceptorship programme has been recognised as it encourages a safe learning environment for new staff, builds confidence and skills, increases motivation and leads to more effective team working and communication.
National leads at NHS England have praised Mersey Care’s approach and commitment in successfully achieving the National Multi-profession Preceptorship Quality Mark.
Director of Staff Experience and Engagement, Dr Ronke Akerele said:
“This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to your leadership, commitment, and dedication to delivering high-quality preceptorship for the workforce. As one of the early implementers, your work has helped shape national learning and set an excellent example for others across the system. It’s been a pleasure to see your progress and the way you’ve embraced the framework and made it meaningful within your local context. I look forward to continuing our work together and to recognising your success more formally very soon. Warmest congratulations again on this well-deserved recognition."
