The devastating attack at a synagogue in Manchester, happening on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, is deeply shocking.

We know the news will be upsetting for many people, and our thoughts and condolences are with our Jewish colleagues and their families and friends. We are thinking of all our colleagues who live and work in and around Manchester.

If you're feeling affected by these events, support is available and your colleagues are here for you. Please take time to check in with each other - a simple message or conversation can make a real difference.

Mersey Care has zero acceptance of antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism or any form of discriminatory behaviour. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued and supported, regardless of their background, faith or identity.

Support is available, and you are not alone – please speak with your manager if you have any concerns for your safety, and visit Support available for staff :: YourSpace Mersey Care for resources that might help you.

Let’s continue to show kindness, compassion, and resilience as we move forward together.
