As part of this year’s NHS Big Tea celebrations, we’re inviting teams across the Trust to take part in something a little bit special: Mersey Cares’ Big Birthday Bake Off!
Our annual NHS Big Tea returns this July, bringing colleagues, communities and supporters together to celebrate everything we love about our NHS and the incredible people who make it what it is. This year is extra special, as we celebrate 78 years of the NHS and 25 years of Mersey Care.
So, what better way to mark the occasion than with a bit of friendly competition?
Show us your showstoppers
Why not add an extra layer of fun to your NHS Big Tea by hosting your very own team Bake Off?
Invite your colleagues to get creative in the kitchen, whip up their favourite bake, and bring it along to your event. From cupcakes to classics and showstopping creations, anything goes! Then, simply vote as a team to crown your star baker.
Bake, share, donate
Here’s where it gets even better, as your Bake Off can also help make a real difference.
Turn your delicious creations into a fundraising opportunity by asking for donations to Mersey Cares in exchange for a slice (or two!). Every contribution will help fund projects that make a real difference for patients and communities across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Each team’s Bake Off winner will go forward for the chance to be crowned Mersey Cares’ Star Baker — so it’s time to bring your A‑game, channel your inner Paul or Prue, and impress with your very best bakes!

The NHS’ 78th Birthday is on 5 July, which falls on a Sunday this year. Mersey Cares Big Tea Events can take place any time between Mon 29th Jun - Fri 10th Jul 2026.
