The Royal College of Nursing announced two consecutive days of strike action in January in England in an escalation of its pay dispute with the UK government. Unless negotiations are opened, RCN members will strike again on 18 and 19 January 2023.
Around 70 NHS organisations across England will take part in the strike action. The RCN have confirmed that the 44 organisations impacted in December would not be included in this next phase of action. Mersey Care is therefore not included in these days of industrial action and colleagues are expected to work their usual rostered shifts.
As part of a phased approach by the RCN, a number of other local trusts as below will take part in phase two of strike action:

- University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
