As people will be aware, the NHS Staff Council accepted the Agenda for Change (AfC) pay offer on 2 May and this will be paid to staff in June’s pay.

The pay award for 2023/24 is a consolidated (pensionable) pay award of 5 percent for all AfC staff and will be back dated to 1 April 2023. To view the pay scales please follow this link: Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers.

The award for 2022/23 (one off payment non-consolidated and non-pensionable) has two parts to it: a 2 percent payment to all AfC staff and a tiered payment (based on bands). The backlog bonus is an average value of 4 percent.

NHS Employers advise that benefit requirements will vary by individual and household, and may be affected by a non-consolidated payment. Those in receipt of benefits should contact their benefit provider to discuss.
