The Trust goes live with transition to PSIRF from 1 July 2023.
One of the important principles of PSIRF is there should be compassionate engagement with those affected by patient safety incidents, this might include patients, service users, families/carers and our staff.
This naturally aligns with our restorative just and learning culture and will underpin our approach to responding to patient safety incidents going forward. Work is underway to train a key cohort of staff to fulfil the role of engagement lead whether supporting colleagues or as Family Support Leads for patients or their family/carers.
Further training will be rolled out and a supportive booklet based on a national template is also underway.
