There are numerous events taking place in Liverpool throughout November. Please bear in mind these may cause delays when travelling.
Liverpool Service of Remembrance Sunday, 10 November 2024
The annual Civic Reception and Service for Remembrance Sunday will take place on Sunday, 10th November 2024 at the Cenotaph on St George’s Plateau, Lime Street, Liverpool. The event is expected to attract approximately 15000 people. There will be the following road closures on that day:-
- 6am - Hunter Street closed to facilitate operation
- 7am - Willliam Brown Street closed both ends to general traffic
- 9.30am -Closure of roads outside of St Georges Hall including Lime Street, Queens Square Bus Station, London Road, Skelhorne Street and St. John’s Lane.
At approximately 12.30pm all traffic management will be lifted and roads will reopen if safe to do so.
Liverpool Christmas Market – St George’s Hall Plateau, William Brown Street and St John’s Garden, Liverpool. Saturday, 16 November to Tuesday, 24 December 2024
2024 will see the return of Liverpool’s Christmas Market. The event takes place on St Georges Hall Plateau, William Brown Street (upper and lower) and St Johns Gardens. 2024 will see the market spread down further into the gardens. In poor weather the market will have approximately 300 over a weekday day and 2000 over a weekend day. In good weather the market can have 2,000 at any one time weekday and 5,000 at anyone time on weekend day.
There will be a road closure in place on William Brown Street from Upper WBS (Lime Street end) to Lower WBS (Tunnel End). This will be in place from Tuesday, 12 November 6am through to 10pm on 31 December 2024.
Kirkby Christmas Lights Switch-on – Newtown Gardens, Cherryfield Drive, Kirkby. Friday, 22 November 2024
As the event takes place away from the highway on a fully pedestrianised area there will be no road closures.
