Nav Kapur, Professor of Psychiatry and Population Health at the University of Manchester and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at Mersey Care was the expert advisor for the new NICE self-harm guidelines. In a paper just published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, he and colleagues highlight the key recommendations for mental health professionals when caring for people after self-harm. They also discuss some of the implementation challenges.
